Day 5- Friday April 8
Read- 1 Nephi 11-12
Mark- 1 Nephi 11:20-23
Quote- "You need time to meditate and ponder, to think, to wonder at the great plan of happiness that the Lord has outlined for HIs children. You need to read the scriptures...I heard President David o. McKay say to the members of the Twelve on one occasion, 'Brethren, we so not spend enough time meditating.'" ~President Gordon B. Hinckley
Question- How often do you take the time to ponder, to meditate on things that are important?

Today I went on my first mule ride. We drove way out into the middle of no where and rode around on mules for an hour. I thought that it would be boring, but it was so nice to have nothing to think about but my own thoughts. I found it relaxing, rejuvenating and purifying. It was so peaceful to have no distractions: no tv, no radio, no kids yelling, no cleaning and no worrying. I just let my mind wonder and I thought about how beautiful this world is and how majestic life is. I thought about God and this wonderful plan of happiness that He has created for us to enjoy and for a couple of hours I truly enjoyed it. It was wonderful. Pondering is a wonderful thing, especially when we are pondering on things of the Spirit. I have never seen a vision like Lehi or Nephi but I have been blessed with personal revelation when I have taken the time to ponder the scriptures and truly tried to understand them. It is the best and quickest way to learn. I challenge you to take the time each day, just a moment if that is all you have and turn off the world and just ponder and I guarantee that you will not regret it.

  1. I'm loving that your back on and BLOGGING!!! This is an awesome challenge! I started again reading the BofM this year and am not going nearly as fast, but I'm liking the reflecting a lot. I'll have to get a little notebook for myself!
