Day 21- Sunday, April 24
Read- Jacob 2-4
Mark- Jacob 2:18-19
Quote- "If you have not chosen the kingdom of God first, it will in the end make no difference what you have chosen instead." ~William Law
Question- Are your decisions based on how your choices will help to build the Lord's kingdom? If needed, how can you change?
I am hosting Easter this year for the first time for all my in-laws and I am really nervous that I am going to mess everything up. So to minimize the stress that I know I will be feeling tomorrow I am going to post for Monday as well because I know that I will not have the time to do it tomorrow and even if I did I would forget. Happy Easter!
Day 22- Monday, April 25
Today is a catch up day!!! I need it :(
If you are caught up I applaud you! You can take the time to study 2 Nephi 31-33 and ponder these questions- What is the doctrine of Christ? What are some things the Holy Ghost can do for us? As Nephi finishes his record what are the things it seems like he most wants us to know?
What is the doctrine of Chist?
ReplyDeleteAnswer: "...ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward feasting on the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life." (2 Ne. 31:20)
Or in other words: Hope, faith, and charity, studying the scritpures and praying, and following the commandments and the covenants you have made. If you do this every day, you will gain eternal life, which is the doctrine of Christ.
For more insights, see the Book of Mormon Institute Manual, pages 107-109.
Day 21 Are your decisions based on how your choices will help to build the kingdom? Yes! Sometimes I get sidetracked buy I strive to weekly check my actions to my goals which are always to build the kingdom.
ReplyDeleteDay 22 What does Nephi want us to know most? The 4th article of faith and to keep our covenants and endure to the end. The Holy Ghost tells us what to do if we are in tune; he comforts us and testifies of truth. About the video - I think the most profound part is when President Monson testifies of his personal witness of knowing Christ. I was once told by a patriarch of his personal conversation with an apostle that after they are ordained to the apostleship they are taken to the upper room of the temple to personally meet Christ and feel his hands so they truly are a witness of Christ as all the 12 & prophets of old were & are.
My question - In Ch 21 vs 14 - 16 it talks about Ephraim & Judah flying upon the philistines toward the west... Those verses sound like those who have accepted Christ will rise up with assistance form the Arab countries take possession of Iraq & any other middle east country and then they will cross to the US on dry ground that God has created. What's your take.
