Day 35-Sunday May, 8
Read- Mosiah 24-25
Mark- Mosiah 24:14-15
Quote- "We should seek to be happy and cheerful and not allow Satan to overcome us with discouragement, despair, or depression." ~Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin
"The Lord...loves us..., comforts and strengthens us, and enables us to bear our afflictions with patience and fortitude." ~Elder George Q. Cannon
Question- How can we submit more cheerfully to the will of the Lord?
This is where the Book of Mormon really gets awesome for me. Alma and his people were righteous but they still had to endure horrible trials but instead of being angry at the Lord they decided to learn and grow from their trials and increase their faith. Because they choose to be righteous the Lord made their burdens light. He didn't take away their trials because the trials make them stronger, better people and makes them more like Jesus Christ and that is the goal. Only after they endured did the Lord save them in a miraculous way. We should be grateful for our trials instead of hate them because they bring us closer to our Heavenly Father.
If we are humble and teachable we can always accepte the will of the Lord.
