I am so sorry that I am behind things have been crazy around here. But since yesterday was a catch up day you shouldn't be behind. If you are no big deal just keep reading.
Day 36- Monday, May 9
Today is a catch up day. Make sure that you have read through to Mosiah 25. If you are caught up you can take the time to study Mosiah 14-15, and ask yourself these questions about why Abinadi quoted Isaiah to testify of the Savior. What did Isaiah teach about Christ? What can you learn about the Savior from Abinadi's testimony?
Abinadi's strong conviction and his unwavering testimony even with the threat of death teach me how strong my testimony needs to be. He was only one man in an entire city, but he knew that the gospel was true an he testifies of Christ despite the difficulties. In the end he was killed and we might think that it was all for nothing but he converted one man, just one. But that one man became the prophet and converted hundreds of people and organized the church for probably millions of people. Every testimony that we share, in words and in deeds, can change the world, just like Abinadi.
Many prophets quote testimony from other prophets before them - I think it really shows their humility and their love and respect for leaders that they looked up to. Abinadi used Isaiahs testimony because he knew that they were very familiar with it as it was a part of the brass plates and because of the details of the atonement in it - it was powerful and he needed them to feel the power of what Christ would do for them and then he sealed it with his life "a type of Christ".
