Day 37- Tuesday, May 10
Read- Mosiah 26-28
Mark- 26:29-30
Quote- "You always need to confess your sins to the Lord. If they are serious transgressions, such as immorality, they need to be confessed to a bishop or stake president. Please understand that confession is not repentance. It is an essential step, but is not of itself adequate. Partial confession by mentioning lesser mistakes will not hep you resolve a more serious, undisclosed transgression. Essential to forgiveness is a willingness to fully disclose to the Lord and, where necessary, His priesthood judge all that you have done." ~Elder Richard G. Scott
Question- Why is confession an essential part of repentance?

I love the story of Alma the younger's conversion. It shows us that no matter our sins the Lord will always love us and will always forgive us. We can have a strong testimony no matter our past or circumstance if we have a true desire to be like our Savior.

Day 38- Wednesday, May 11
Read- Mosiah 29-Alma 30
Mark- Alma 1:6, 16
Quote- "The Nephite prophets repeatedly identifies the wearing of costly clothing with apostasy and failure to live by gospel standards." ~Elder Bruce R. McConkie
Question- What might your way of dressing say about you?

It is amazing how brave Alma the younger and the sons of Mosiah were to want to covert the Lamanites. It gives me more confidence to be a missionary. If they can soften the hearts of the Lamanites then I can soften the hearts of those around me. The power of the gospel can change anyone no matter how stubborn or prideful we think they are.

  1. I try to remember that I'm being watched by the world. People look for flaws in you to excuse themselves from the Gospel. It is good to remember who we represent daily. It's ok to wear nice things as long as it is not at the expense of our covenants to build zion.

  2. Confession is needful because we might miss a vital part of repentance without the support and advice from our leaders and keeping ourselves accountable is the plan that the Savior has set forth to keep us on the path to perfection.
